Take a chill pill...

So what i've learned over the last few months is that it is extremely important to relax and have some 'me' time once in a while. I was getting so caught up with Uni, work and my social life that I literally hardly ever spent time in my bedroom unless it was to sleep.

Over the last few days I've had time off work and its been an extremely intense few weeks at Uni so i've managed to get caught up and get my horrible finance assignment out of the way. Amongst doing my work I've been taking a much needed pamper week doing bits and bats to make me feel happier.

I thought i'd share a few of the things I've been getting up to this week to wind down...

1. Create the bubbliest bubble bath of all time - this is the first thing I do to unwind. There's nothing better than jumping in a nice hot bubble bath spending some quality time on your own. I usually put some music on, watch a youtube video or even just sit in silence and close my eyes. If I'm lucky enough, i'll have treated myself to a lush bath bomb but otherwise i'll try to create the biggest bubbles I can to sink into.

2. Pamper time - I like to give myself a real treat and once a week go all out with a mini pamper routine. I love the Bodyshop Musk range and usually mix them in with some lovely smelling bath cream to make me feel all smooth and silky. The soap&glory exfoliator is to die for and great to use on knees and elbows before applying tan! I also love the Champney's range and when i'm out of the bath I glide this all over my skin leaving it feel nourished and firm. Finally, I use the Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser once a week to cleanse my face (I tend to do this every Sunday night as a refresh for the upcoming week).

3. Treat yo self - I only fake tan every now and again, usually for special occasions but sometimes just to make myself feel a little extra. I always feel better with a tan and the Skinny Tan Primer is perfect at making my tan last! I used it before a spray tan before i went on holiday and the tan lasted the whole week - NO LIE! But, from home, i love the St Moriz Spray and I use it in the darkest shade applying it with the Skinny Tan Mitt. Using all three of these products leaves my tan glowing, streak free and not patchy!

Next I like to paint my nails and i usually go for

4. Get all cosy'd up - get yourself some cosy, cute and fluffy pyjamas and team it with some fluffy socks (christmas themed if poss) and get all wrapped up in bed or on the sofa. I got both of these from Primark which is my go to for cosy Pj's and socks!

5. And Relax -I end the night with either a cute film or laptop time and tend to listen to some mellow music to set the tone for the evening. I love all sorts of film genres (Love Actually & The Holiday are my two fave christmas films). I grab myself a hot chocolate, turn the lights off and get under the covers and try to not go on my phone so i can completely disconnect from the day to restart in the morning.

I find doing this once or twice a week can really help with my mind set and stress levels. For the last few weeks i have found it hard to balance out my life but taking some 'me' time has proven I just needed a little TLC.

Having some good quality you time can just do the trick sometimes and it gives me a nice few hours to get inspiration for uni, the future and blog posts and it just takes the pressure off everything else.

It puts me in a good productive & motivated mood which lays out the rest of the week for me.

If anyone has any recommendations to combat tiredness please let me know as its an ongoing project of mine at the moment!

Until next time,

Chloe xo
