Hey everyone!

So it’s been a while...but I’ve been pretty busy as I’m sure you can imagine! I have a few side projects going on amongst looking after Mr Oakland and he is now almost 5 months old! Where has time gone?!

My last post was a newborn essentials post and I’m pretty sure I wrote that after 2 weeks of having him so I thought I’d do an update!

These a few random things I’ve been using every day for the last few months! We aren’t yet in a routine (which I am going to introduce within the next few weeks when I start weaning him) but we do have a rough one!

Sophie the Giraffe

My friend kindly got Oakland this! He loves it at the moment as he is able to grab it and of course chew on it! It’s really easy for him to hold and he gets so excited when I give it to him.

Watering can & Waterproof Books

So bath time at first I used to dred. Oakland really didn’t enjoy it and he would cry throughout. I figured filling the bath up higher than the guide line helped but of course he is supervised at all times. It just means he’s covered more and therefore kept warmer for longer! He has just started to notice his feet so has been very intrigued by them! To keep bath time abit more entertaining, I use a watering can from Nuby to pour water on him and rinse his hair. He loves watching it and tries to lick it too hahaha. I also read him two books which are water proof ones he will be able to play with as he gets older! We are usually in the bath between 10-20 mins with him and he doesn’t cry anymore! You can find both items on Amazon for under £5!

Cocomelon - Netflix

If you have Netflix, go into the kids category and find Cocomelon. It’s literally the most annoying programme but it’s full of bright colours and sounds which keeps Oakland entertained for usually a good 15 mins. I place him in his bouncer or on his play mat probably twice a day and it enables me to get some work done!

Flask

For all you bottle feeding mummy’s, If you don’t already use the flask method I don’t know how you’re coping! Throughout the day & night I have a big flask full of warm/hot water which I use for his bottles throughout the day/night! This makes it easier when prepping a bottle as the water is at a perfect temperature.

Nappy caddy

I spoke about this in my last post but a nappy caddy is a must for night time! I keep bottles, formula, the flask, spare clothes & calpol in it! I keep nappies and wipes next to the crib but this means I can just take the caddy down every morning and empty it and then reload every night! They’re pretty cheap too and can be found on Amazon / Ebay.

Compartment powder pot

I got one of these from a family member and it’s great for on a night or going out for the day for long periods of time! It means you can have 3 sets of formula in one! I’m pretty sure these are sold in places such as Boots, Superdrug & Amazon.

Free prints app

This app is fabulous! You get 40 free prints every month and just have to pay £3 for p&p! This means I get to print off photos from that month and keep all of my memories physically rather than on my phone!

So there’s a quick update on what I’m using and loving at the moment! I will be weaning Oakland in the next few weeks so I will do a weaning essentials post too!

In the meantime, if there is any other posts you’re interested in please let me know!

Thank you for reading!
