Hey Everyone,
So on the day you’re reading this (Monday 17th August 2020), I am going into hospital to get induced!
On Thursday 13th, I went for my 36 Week appointment with the midwife. The plan for that day was to finalise my birth plan and check my weight/my bump measurements. Up until that point there had been nothing wrong, no complications or consultant appoints etc. Everything seemed to be going fine. Upon measuring my bump (which I personally didnt think had grown much in the last two weeks), my midwife said she agreed and wanted to send me for a growth scan. We managed to get myself booked in that same day a few hours later so we finalised my birth plan (roughly I wanted a nice calm, relaxing water birth) and booked in for all my future appointments including sweeps past 40 Weeks.
I went to the scan hoping things would be fine however I was informed that bubba was quite small compared to what he should’ve been and even though my placenta and umbilical cord was working perfectly, they were concerned. They then told me they would want to induce me at 37 Weeks...which was 4 days away.

Of course this took me by surprise and with me sat alone as no one is allowed with you still to appointments due to covid, it was all just abit surreal. I thought I had at least another 3 or so weeks but nope, just 4 days before things were going to start moving very quickly.
I thought I would give you all a little update and hopefully, today is the day! But if not I will be in hospital for the next few days and he will be here at some point this week.
So crazy but I’m trying to keep myself calm and positive. I need to stay relaxed and I’m hoping I can do just that so my induction can go as smooth as possible!
The next time you hear from me I will have a little boy to show off! How exciting!
Speak soon!
