Mine & Baby’s Birth Bag

So as my due date approaches, I thought I’d show you what I’m taking in both my bag and the babys bag! Some may say I am over packing but I’d rather pack too much than too less with the current situation of birthing partners not being able to be present 24/7!
First of all, the baby’s bag! I am going to be using the Teddy Backpack I was very kindly gifted from PipiBear! You can get these on Amazon and for the price they are extremely good quality, have loads of room and have many different compartments which are just so handy and useful.

I decided to use re-usable sandwhich bags (inspired by @lustliving on IG) to organise everything inside.

Because I have been roughly told what my baby will weigh, I have got 2 outfits in that size & a sleepsuit and then 2 slightly bigger sleepsuits. Including matching hats, some vests, mittens and socks!

I am also taking a jacket & a teddy along with some muslin cloths, nappies and a blanket.

Finally in the baby bag I’m taking some pre-made milk (for emergencies as I’m planning on breast feeding), water wipes, nappy sacks & ointment (although I’m sure I won’t need that) and some cotton wool. My Bag
Im taking a small case with me and bringing a towel, hand towel & flannel (to soak in water and put on my head during labour). I’m also taking a change of clothes, a dress to come home in if it’s warm weather and some shorts to wear in the hospital if it’s warm. Along side a pair of Pjs, a nightie and a light weight dressing gown.

Of course I have knickers (big knickers), socks (fluffy ones) and some breast feeding bras too!

I am taking some maternity pads, some normal ones too and breast pads along with some nipple cream and a silicone breast pump to collect milk in.

Above is the contents of my wash bag. Including the basics, I have decided to take some lip balm (as ive heard your lips can go very dry with the gas & air), some palmers body oil for my belly as I love applying this to keep me calm. And I am also taking my Elemis Cleansing Balm as it makes me feel like I’m in a spa hehehe. I also got some of the bottoms up spray which ive heard good things about! For me to use after birth!

I am also taking a pack of face masks, a mini bag with bobbles, a scrunchie, ear phones & a phone charger in. Then for my hypnobirthing tool kit, I’ll be taking some cooling mist, a roller ball and also some battery lit candles and my sleepy cream from Lush.
Finally for the goodies! I am taking some nibbles incase I am in there longer than I’d hoped! Including some energy drinks!

Extra bits include my hospital notes, IPad & some magazines! Hopefully I won’t be in long but of course you never know and at least I’ll be prepared incase I am on my own for most of it.
So that’s that! I can’t believe it’s finally come to the time where I am fully prepared and ready give birth. After reading the hypnobirthing book, I truly believe my mindset has changed. Don’t get me wrong I am still scared and nervous but I know what my body is capable of and Im going to stay positive!
Keep an eye out for some news / a new blog post going live at the beginning of next week! Oh and if there is anything I have forgotten, please let me know!
Until then,
Chloe xx
