Welcome back guys,

As I mentioned in my previous post, I am expecting a Baby Boy in September 2020 and I wanted to document my pregnancy on my blog to keep it all documented. I thought it would be nice way to connect with other soon to be Mummy's too!

Todays post is going to be discussing my First Trimester. This is the first 12 Weeks of Pregnancy right from the conception of your baby. I found out I was pregnant on the 30th of December 2019. After rough workings out and doing a Boots Strip Test & also a clear blue test, we figured I was around 3/4 weeks pregnant by that point and I rung my doctors to book in with the Midwife.

I remember waiting for my first appointment seemed to take forever and it was such a horrible time to wait not knowing if everything was okay. I dont think many people really speak about it but especially within the first few weeks, its such a worrying and un-settling time as you feel like you don't know what is going on. I remember doing a lot of research and buying a pregnancy book (which will be in my pregnancy essentials post) to try learn as much as possible before my Booking In Appointment with my Midwife. This appointment was on the 30th of January 2020, so a whole month later after finding out.

Booking in Appointment 30/01/2020- Around 8 weeks Pregnant.

This was the first time I got to meet my Midwife whom was lovely and very welcoming. Zac came with me and it was more of a 'get to know us' appointment as she was asking us a lot of questions to do with our selves. We discussed living arrangements, hereditary health issues and my own personal mental & physical health.

She also took my blood and a urine sample which got sent off for inspection (as to which they were both fine and came back normal) and then gave us alot of booklets and leaflets to read discussing vaccinations, contact details and general pregnancy advice.

She then gave me the details to book in for my 12 Weeks scan at the hospital of which I did the following day.

Up until this point the only symptoms I had were tiredness and sore breasts. I was extremely lucky to not have experienced morning sickness even though sometimes i did feel a little nauseous in the morning. I do remember not really feeling myself but i assume that was from my hormones being all over the place.

First Scan 19/02/2020 - Confirmed I was 11 Weeks & 2 Days

My first scan was at my local hospital and i remember feeling so excited but nervous at the same time. As we had not had any direct visible contact with the baby, It was a very scary time as I was scared I wasn't even pregnant or that something had gone wrong. Becuase my midwife hadnt done a pregnancy test to confirm, it was all just relying on 4 home tests i'd taken over 10 Weeks ago.

Zac came with me and I had drunk LOADS of water because people were stressing how i needed to drink a pint of water for them to be able to see properly and i was finding it so hard to not wee myself.

When I was finally in the room and on the bed with the jelly on my belly and the sonographer was starting to move the camera, it all started sinking in. I couldn't believe this was me, pregnant Chloe with a little baby inside my tummy. As she turned the screen to us i couldn't believe my eyes. The image was so clear and the baby looked so big. They were moving around so much which meant the lady was finding it hard to get measurements which made me laugh because I couldn't feel anything yet they were all over the place. We got assured that everything was ok, Baby was looking healthy and they were measuring at 11 Weeks & 2 Days.

At this point, I had been taking my Pregnacare tablets since around a week after I found out I was pregnant which I could tell a huge difference if I missed a day. Due to me already taking Vitamin D tablets, this included 18 more Vitamins which are vital for my baby. This will also be in my Pregnancy Essentials Post which I will then discuss it all in more depth.

I had also bought a book which told me week by week what to expect and downloaded an app on my phone that is fabulous called 'Pregnancy+'. These made me feel alot more in-control and have given me alot of advice and knowledge both daily and weekly.

We had only told close friends & family which was so hard but after our 12 Week scan we decided to tell more people which was such a nice experience. I hadn't felt so much love and warmth from everyone around me.

I really do have the best set of friends and our families are just as excited as us!

Above are my Bump progress pictures from Months 1-3. As you can see, just under my belly button, on Month 3 I really start to show however, I still felt like i had no 'real' bump which meant it was quite easy to keep a secret!

And that concludes my First Trimester! I hope you guys enjoyed reading about it and I will continue to do the Updates as the weeks and months go on showing you scan pictures and my bump too! If anyone is reading this and has just found out you're pregnant, first of all Congratulations and secondly, stay positive & everything will be okay!

Until next time,
